No Turning Back – The Story of Herman Williams (Navajo)

HermanWilliams-sm

Herman was born and raised on the Navajo reservation.  His grandparents brought him up in the Navajo language, culture, and tradition.  As a teenager he jumped in the back of truck for a two-week work opportunity, and headed off the rez for the first time in his life.  He was surprised and intrigued by what he saw… and decided he wanted to explore this new world.  Two weeks turned into two years… and what he learned and experienced in that time changed his life forever.  Listen as Herman shares about his culture, his faith, and the amazing adventures he had as a follower of Jesus Christ.  Herman is home with the Lord now, but his story continues to inspire and challenge those who hear it.  We hope it will do the same for you.  Share this with your friends!

Herman was a friend of my father’s and he stayed with us for a week when he was in the Pittsburgh area for a convention. I remember him fondly. I was just a child but he told us stories as if we were important and he had all the time in the world.

I first heard Herman Williams story several years ago. I never forgot it. It left such an impact on me, that l downloaded it, and kept it on my computer as a testimony to reflect on. I even wanted to visit him, to let him know what a profound story he had, and to thank him for sharing it. To my disappointment I found out he passed on. All the witnesses have remarkable stories, but Herman’s honesty and realism was very unique. Thank-you Herman, I’m so sure you’ve helped many souls. God bless, and rest in peace my brother! R.K.
