Gordon Thayer (Ojibwe) shares his story – Free MP3 Download

posted on , under WR News

When Gordon was seventeen years old the judge gave him a choice… go to reform school or join the military.  Gordon chose the military and served as a pararescueman in the USAF under the banner “That others might live.”   His commitment to this cause was tested in Vietnam were he earned multiple decorations during his two tours of duty.  Later, Gordon became the tribal chairman of  the Lac Courte Oreilles band of Ojibwe.  Because of his hatred towards anything Christian, Gordon was pleased when someone suggested they invite traditional shamans to the reservation.  He gave his hearty approval and they came.  It was a decision that ultimately would bring Gordon to his knees to put his trust in Jesus.  Though he no longer serves in the military, his passion continues to be “That others might live” by finding new life in Christ.  This is a story you don’t want to miss.  Download and Listen to Gordon Thayer’s testimony using the link below.
