What God Says About His Word
It is truth: Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. (John 17:17)
It is right: For the word of the LORD is right, And all His work is done in truth. (Psalm 33:4)
It is pure: Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. Do not add to His words, Lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar. (Proverbs 30:5-6)
It is profitable: All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
It is everlasting: The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever. (Isaiah 40:8)
It is a light to guide us: Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path. (Psalm 119:105)
It is to be handled accurately: Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (2 Timothy 2:15)
It is from God and not changeable by man: And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. (2 Peter 1:19-21)
